Meet Pastor Trent
Trent joined the staff of Calvary Baptist Church and Schools in 1996. In addition to his ministries at Calvary, Trent serves as grant review panelist for the Michigan Council for Arts and Cultural Affairs, as a volunteer for the Holland Rescue Mission and as a contributor to the blog Gospel Ramblings. Trent sings with Opera Grand Rapids and with the Holland Chorale and has served as Board Member for the Holland Chorale and for Calvary Schools. Trent has also participated in recording projects and led training modules for Life Action Ministries.
A native of Arkansas, Trent earned both his B.M.E. graduating Cum Laude and his M.M.E. from Arkansas State University in Jonesboro, Arkansas. He is currently a student at The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky working toward his D. Ed. Min. in Christian Worship. Trent’s career began as an elementary music teacher in southern Arkansas. After serving on the staff at Central Baptist Church in Jonesboro, Arkansas, working in the music and television ministries, Trent and his wife Margie joined Life Action Ministries where they spent two years as singers and music director.
Trent believes that genuine worship is at the heart of every believer’s walk with God and finds great joy and comfort in knowing that God delights in the worship of His children and rejoices over us in singing (Zephaniah 3:17). Trent and his wife Margie were married in 1992 and have three children: Caleb, Andrew and Josiah. Margie is a special education teacher in a local school district.
