Project: Resource Closet

There wasn't room in the closet, so we got an office!

In a three week time frame, our church family collected almost 120 duffle bags to help foster parents and children have the necessary supplies to make it through the first five days in foster care.  We also stocked the DHS county vehicles with nine safe child seats in varying sizes, and provided toys and games for children and parents to use during visitation hours.  Calvary will not only touch the hearts of the children, but we also encouraged the hearts of the DHS social workers, who have committed their lives to protecting children.  Tears were shed by DHS workers as Pastor Mark shared our church’s desire to honor their continual service as the gifts were delivered to them.  Continue to pray that God will use these gifts for His purposes.  The core team for this project was: Mark and Sarah Vroegop, Gail Overway and Andrew Kellam.

In honor of Memorial Day, Calvary Baptist Church hosted a special Civil Service Sunday on May 27, 2007.  A special worship service to honor veterans and those involved in civil service was held on this special day.  Calvary participated in a ministry project to the Clothing Bank for Allegan County DHS.  Representatives and staff from Allegan County DHS were present in the services to receive these gifts.  Click here for pictures from the day.

On Sunday, May 28, 2006 we celebrated Civil Service Sunday. We had several of our special guests present for this time to honor and encourage our Civil Servants. We also had the opportunity to recognize those who are currently served our country and those who have served our country in the past. Calvary desires to bless and encourage our veterans and civil servants, including politicians. This service is held annually on Memorial Day weekend.
